Lung Health Community of Practice

Sessions will run from February 2024 to November 2024.

Join us for the new Lung Health Community of Practice, in collaboration with the Lung Health Foundation! Connect with colleagues from across Canada with a shared interest in integrating a palliative care approach for individuals with advanced lung disease.

This COP is ideal for interprofessional palliative care clinicians with an interest in lung disease and lung/respirology specialists with a passion for palliative care.

Members of this COP will have the opportunity to meet every 2 months with a panel of experts in the field to engage in case discussions and explore topics such as symptom management and models of care (including home care, hospice, and palliative care units). 

This Group Learning Activity is accredited through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. You may claim a maximum of 5 hours. This educational offering has been approved for 1.0 continuing professional development credit per session by the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists for a total of 5.0 CSRT CPD credits.

  • Palliative care in advanced respiratory illnesses: This session was held on February 28, 2024.
  • COPD Management: May 1, 2024, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. ET
  • Pulmonary Fibrosis: June 28, 2024, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. ET
  • Symptom management in advanced respiratory illnesses: September 18, 2024, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. ET
  • Psychological distress and depression: November 27, 2024, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. ET
